Dr. Spratt is a board-certified ophthalmologist with specialized expertise in the medical, laser, and surgical treatment of glaucoma, cataracts, and other eye conditions.
His medical degree was awarded in 2001. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the prestigious Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, UK, in 2010. He then received his subspecialist glaucoma fellowship training at both Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, UK, and at the well-respected Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, USA.
He is a member of the American Glaucoma Society, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
Dr. Spratt’s contributions to medical progress include researching new glaucoma eye drops, demonstrating a new and effective treatment for neovascular glaucoma, and introducing a new form of glaucoma surgery to Africa. He has given many presentations to scientific audiences, published over 20 scientific papers in academic medical journals and has written a book chapter about the effects of glaucoma on people’s quality of life.
Dr. Spratt has worked at the top-ranked eye hospitals in the USA and the UK providing complex, state of the art, medical and surgical care for patients with the most severe eye problems. He has also worked as a volunteer doctor in Nepal, the Middle East, and sub-Saharan Africa.
