Dr. Jennifer Murdock is an Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, performing cosmetic and functional procedures around the eyes and face. As a plastic surgeon, she is able to blend her passion for both the arts and science. This unique combination originated at the University of Miami, where she completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Science and Biology with minor degrees in chemistry and art history, of which the latter included a semester studying original art pieces first-hard in Paris. She then evolved her science background as a clinical study coordinator, studying novel medical, laser, injectable, and surgical techniques within UM’s Department of Cosmetic Medicine.
While completing her medical degree at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Dr. Murdock also participated in the Department of Community Service (DOCS), which provided free medical access to several underprivileged communities in South Florida. She spearheaded an educational project with a professional film director and crew to create a documentary series about the culture, medical needs, and health care gaps within these diverse communities.
Dr. Murdock then completed a surgical residency in ophthalmology at Baylor College of Medicine. During her training, Dr. Murdock discovered her passion for advancing education by teaching medical trainees in both didactic and hands-on clinical and surgical settings. She was then selectively chosen from a highly competitive group of applicants to join the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) with fellowship training at Oregon Health and Science University. There, she performed thousands of aesthetic and reconstructive procedures of the face, eyelids, tear drainage system, and orbits in both adults and children alike.
Dr. Jennifer Murdock is currently a board-certified ophthalmologist (ABO) and certified by the ASOPRS Oculofacial Society. She has a particular interest in aesthetic procedures around the eyes, endoscopic brow lifts, cosmetic injections of the face and under eye injections, eyelid and orbital reconstruction, pediatric ophthalmic plastic surgery, and complex orbital inflammatory disorders, including Thyroid Eye Disease. A few years ago, she participated in an FDA multi-center study investigating a new treatment for thyroid eye disease and now is currently a sought-out for her expertise in Thyroid Eye Disease as a consultant and speaker. Dr. Murdock has published in medical journals and textbooks and has repeatedly been invited to present at ASOPRS scientific meetings and other international meetings.
Dr. Murdock continues her passion for the arts as an avid supporter of South Florida’s art culture, including theater, dance, and visual arts. Prior to her relocation to the Miami area, she was previously recognized as one of the Top 30 Influential Women in Houston and a Top Doctors in Best of Texas Magazine in 2022.
